Manage your data
Last updated: 23 April 2026
You're always in control of the data you put into HabitatTracker. This page explains what we hold, how to delete it, and how to export it before you go.
What we store about you
- Account data: email address and display name.
- Animal records: names, species, morphs, dates, photos.
- Care logs: feeding, misting, shedding, weight, notes.
- Prey inventory items.
- AI chat messages with the care assistant.
- Daily AI prompt-usage counter and Pro subscription status.
- Crash reports tied to an anonymous identifier.
The full detail is in our privacy policy.
Delete your account and data
There are two ways to request deletion. Both remove the same data.
1. In-app (recommended)
- Open HabitatTracker on your Android device.
- Go to Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account.
- Confirm the prompt. Deletion is immediate.
2. By email
Send a deletion request to ashgreggors@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account so we can verify the request. We'll confirm receipt within a few working days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account: animals, logs, schedules, photos, chat history, prey inventory, subscription record, and the account itself.
What we retain
- Crash reports — may persist in aggregated, non-identifying form for up to 90 days to help us diagnose app issues.
- Billing records — Google Play is the merchant of record for your subscription. We keep minimal transaction records only where UK tax law requires it.
- Firebase backups — encrypted backups expire on a rolling 30-day basis and are not restorable by us after account deletion.
Export your data first (UK-GDPR portability)
If you'd like a machine-readable copy of your data before deleting, email ashgreggors@gmail.com with the subject "Data export request". We'll send you a JSON export within 30 days.
Cancelling your Pro subscription does not delete your account. You cancel a subscription in Google Play (Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). To delete the account itself, use one of the two methods above.
